The 2017 CSI NW+W Bi-Region Conference offers relevant, accredited education programs, trade show and networking opportunities. The event also includes tours, activities and special events. The Conference is specifically designed to provide the commercial building team real-world, practical product and education solutions.

Attendees to the Conference are professionals in the institutional, industrial and commercial building fields that design, build, specify, engineer, renovate and operate in the built environment. Our attendees source and spec building products. They are Architects, Engineers, Specifiers, General Contractors, Project Managers, Building Owners and professionals on the building team. They design and specify for the education, healthcare, government, office and commercial building industry segments.

The Conference Education Program features practical solutions, updates and reinforcements for commercial building professionals. Conference is a provider for AIA/CES LUs and HSWs professionals, and offers certificates of completion for Professional Development Hours to meet various state requirements. More than thirty-five education sessions will be offered at Conference, as well as a thought-provoking Keynote speaker.

View the session and speaker summaries.

Over 30 technical sessions are planned with topics focused on Material Science, Construction Management, Sustainability, Technology, and Concrete. Within each focus area, seminars will address basic concepts as well as more challenging material.

Seattle Building Envelope consultants will be presenting on a variety of topics from Basic Building Science Concepts to Earthquake Resistance as well as a panel discussion on energy efficient glazing.

Representatives from Sellen, Mortenson and other construction firms will cover Design/Build, QA/QC, and Scheduling.  Other presenters will discuss insurance and target Value Design as well as ADA requirements.  Interactive sessions include installation of an air barrier or participation in a collaborative approach to AEC issues with Cherise Lakeside.

Seattle is a leader in sustainable innovation. Find out about the contractor’s role in sustainability, the Living Building Challenge, the Seattle 2030 District, the Bullitt Center and Energy Modeling. Compare and review air barriers and air barrier details and hear from Duane Jonlin about Energy Codes – Trends and Solutions.

Technology is about REVIT and also coordination and augmented and virtual reality. Expect seminars to be lively and interactive. Sessions will discussion the implementation of REVIT coordination into new virtual reality technology allowing AEC and Clients an opportunity to see their projects in real world surrounds. Seminars will include hands-on demonstrations with current VR equipment.

Join the Concrete Renaissance to learn not only about the history of concrete but also the future of concrete and cutting carbon emissions from concrete. For an introduction to this topic, check out the January 2017 issue of the Construction Specifier.
